Message of Autumn.
So it wasn't such a bad summer after all, at least not in our neck of
the woods. But here we are again all of a sudden, cast into gales
and lashing rain... it had to come but we always hoped to have a little
longer.
Looking at the berries on the trees, especially the rowan tree, it looks
as if we are going to have a hard winter! but perhaps I won't feel quite
so sad about that because we have had some really nice summer weather in
Scotland, (North Scotland) this year which was sadly lacking last year.
However the after-effects of the recession (although it still feels like
recession to me!) Is creating havoc in many towns and cities, everywhere
we go there empty shops, often seemingly whole streets of them. We
are told that things was to begin to turn around, but it will be a slow
turnaround.... and a very long way to go. This is the time of year where
we start looking to Christmas, and I know that that can be a nightmare
for many people and perhaps we have to get out of spending enormous
amounts of money at that time of year, and go back to how we were years
ago, where gifts at Christmas were token gifts, and it was the
celebration and sharing of food and wine or whatever you had that was
important.
For many, after the riots of some in England's major cities, it will be
a sad Christmas and New Year.
Everyone seems to be feeling the pinch at the moment, and that this
reason I am now offering a
