Breathing

 

Meditation, meditating on the breath for health.Does meditation sound too difficult to you?

Does the very word put up a block that makes you think “ I can't sit still for half an hour at a time and meditate, and make my mind a blank and think of nothing!”

 Then forget about meditation and let's talk about ‘ breathing’

This is a very easy and pleasant way for anyone to get into a state very like meditation. They can calm the body, lower the heart rate and blood pressure, and refresh themselves in the middle of a stressful or busy time.

First of all you need to stop!

I mean stop what your doing, give yourself time to try this. Stop thinking or worrying about what it is in your life at the moment ….and simply be still..... and be in the moment!

Try this...

Close your eyes and allow your energies to settle…

Allow your body to relax in the chair that you're sitting in or even standing if that's how you prefer to do it (remember that if you are standing and you close your eyes and try this exercise you may feel slightly unbalanced and there is the possibility that you may fall, so better to be sitting)

 

Meditation from PsychicmoonNow take a deep breath and hold it for a count of three....

Let it out gently and naturally feeling your body sink and relax as you do so,

Now just sit quietly… and notice your natural breathing... don't try to force it, just noticed how it is,,,,

  

Breath in through the nose, and feel the breath coming in through your throat....down into your lungs... and imagine it going further down into your stomach... and allow your stomach to push out…. be aware of the breath there in your stomach for a few seconds, and then begin to breath out by pulling in your stomach in..forcing the breath back up through the lungs….. through the throat…… through the nose.... and out.

Do this again…

Meditation from Psychicmoonbreathe in…. allowing the breath to come right down into your stomach at the same time pushing the stomach out, ….hold, ….breathe out by pulling the stomach in and feeling the breath rise up through the lungs…. and out through the nose.

 

Do this once more!

 Now again relax and gently be aware of the flow of your breath, coming in and flowing out gently and in its own time.  This time that do not try to organise or force the breath into any particular pattern, simply let it gently flow as it will, in other words breath naturally and in a very relaxed way.

Holds this relaxed state for a few more minutes until you feel that you are ready to again resume your day, and then simply open your eyes and get on with your life.

You will find this a great aid to relaxation and actually it is a meditation in itself, I might call it a ‘Meditation on the Breath’
